The assignment that was the most challenging for me was the rhetorical analysis/argumentative essay about two songs Hot vs. Conscious. I was not very well informed about hip hop/rap since I lost interest a long time ago and even them I didn’t know the history behind it. When Malik diamond came into our class to present I was amazed how much information was taught that I needed a second to just process. Organizing my paper was one of the hardest things especially when I don’t really like one of the songs, I didn’t have much to say about the song Feeling Myself by Nickie Minaj. The process I took while writing this essay was to focus on the research because I didn’t really know a lot about the artists. Breaking everything down and discarding what was not useful for this assignment. My main resource was youtube I watched various different videos on how to write a rhetorical analysis since I am a visual learner. The hip-hop showcase really helped me open up and be more social among my peers and it turned out to be an awesome experience.
