English 1A with instructor Oliver was very engaging. I had never taken a class that actually takes the time to explain hip hop or it's background. This class has taught me a lot. Such as how to do proper research when studying a very difficult topic, or how to get scholarly sources to verify information. I've also learned how write more effectively and expand my thinking when it comes to writing essays. I must admit I struggled with some of the assignments over the semester but I over came them and gained the understanding by using other classmates to call on. I can say taking this English class over has helped me to develope stronger writing  skills that I will need in the future. I really enjoyed this English class with instructor Oliver.
